Day 7: Selling items on Apps: Offer up, Poshmark, and Letgo.
Greetings Side Hustlers!
Today, we will discuss one of the most profitable ways to make money by utilizing things you may already have, or acquire and flip for a higher price. Garage or yard sells use to be the only way to get rid of unwanted stuff from your home, but now there are apps for it. I will list them in the order that I made the most money on, the ease of the app, or the interactions with people that I have had.

OfferUp is my Top choice because you have the option to meet up with people locally, or ship to anyone in the U.S. You can chat and discuss price, and work out deals before the transaction takes place. The purchaser also pays for shipping, but you must make sure that you do your homework and weigh the product first because you choose the shipping price. If you undervalue the weight, you have to pay the difference. You will receive a prepaid shipping label in your email that you have to print out. The topic of "Low Balling" comes in to play here, because a-lot of people want a discount since they have to pay for shipping as well. You have the right to decline, and state that the price is firm. You can make a-lot of money by purchasing items from places like Goodwill or Pawnshops, and reselling for a higher price on these types of apps. Goodwill has teamed up with OfferUp to sell from their stores. Even they saw the value of flipping and making money off the free stuff they receive.
POSHMARK is my second chose for quality purposes. Unfortunately, they only deal with clothing. But you can get quality clothing for cheap prices, as well as sell your clothing. No meet ups on this app, you are only shipping. As I stated before, shop at Goodwill or Yard sells and resell on the app. I bought three pair of Nike Jordan gym shoes for $60, and resold them for $150 in 2 days. I would suggest taking some time and learning how to take quality, well lit pictures, which you can learn how to do on Youtube.
Letgo is my last choice because it only deals with meet ups only. This is fine if you live in a decent area, but can be dangerous. You can sell anything on Letgo, including houses, cars, and services such as hair braiding or baby sitting. I like this because this offers artistic individuals an avenue to make money without the advertising cost. (Disclaimer) If you meet up with someone, please use a well lit area such as a gas station or a Walmart parking lot. I would strongly suggest not letting people come to your house unless the item you are selling is to big for you to carry to them and you feel comfortable. Please be safe out there!
