Every year, millions of people either forget or through circumstances beyond there control, loose sight of money that is owed to them. Whether it's from a bill or rent deposit, Income Tax Return, or even the passing of a relative who left an insurance policy. There's many different reasons that you may have money being held by the state that you live in, or one that you use to live in. You may have heard this before, but maybe through a Nigerian online scam or email, saying that a rich Diplomatic relative left you a large amount of money, and need for you to put it in the bank for them. Well, this is not it!

Once you go to the site, you will see an outlined map of the United States. You will also see a section, to the left, that states "missing money.com". Do not click on that! Go directly to the map and click on the state that you live in now, or use to live in. Every State's Treasury page is different, but it should take you directly to the Unclaimed Funds page. Put in your first and last name and see if you have any money. If you have a hit, it will show you the address that the business tried sending the money to. If you can verify that you use to live there, or if you live there now, then complete the necessary paperwork that will be listed. If not, just put in your last name and see what happens. If you have a very common last name that's going to bring up a million results, like Smith or Johnson, you may want to add your first initial. If you don't have any money out there, that's OK. You didn't know about it anyway. But you may find some money for a friend or relative, and this is where the side hustle comes in.
People have charged 10% or more recovery fee's for finding money for clients. They are called Recovery Agents. Private Investigators do this as well. No license is required to do this.
Even though this is a free service, people are just down right lazy! So, if you come across someone's money that you know, ask them if they are interested in you getting the money for them, by doing all the paperwork. In return, they will owe you 10%. Put this in writing or a contract! No verbal agreements or handshakes. Money brings out the evil in people, and you will be surprised how quickly someone will turn on you once they get "Their" money. Or, you can just be the good Samaritan, and let them know that the money is there and give them the website. I bet if you check a month later, it will still be there. Human nature.........Anyway, I hope you find some money for yourself, because that would be a blessing. And if not, hopefully this gives you an idea of how to make some extra cash.
